Rooted in the community we call home

Serving Sacramento goes beyond real estate. Ed, Brenda, and the Dwell team actively support the Sacramento Children's Home and the Front Street Animal Shelter, and host community benefit events each year.

We live here. We work here. And we care deeply about the people who call this place home. Giving back is part of how we stay connected to the community that has supported our family for generations.

Our Annual Pie Party and Pups and Pints Party are community and client favorites.

PIE PARTY

On a crisp Thanksgiving week evening, a tasty tradition returned – The Fall Fest Pie Party hosted by Ed Gatejen and the Dwell Real Estate team. The annual event supports local children with donations for The Sacramento Children’s Home and took place at The Caverna Wine Vaults on 57th Street below where Dwell’s hangs it’s shingle.

The “Pie Party” as it’s affectionately known is an is fun night of holiday cheer while making a significant local impact. Bliss Mobile Bar served homemade hot apple cider along with other holiday delights and organic local wine from Lucid. The famed “name game” kept people laughing while others enjoying catching up with old friends, neighbors and making new friends too. Several community businesses partnered to make this evening such a delightful success for The Sacramento Children’s Home, including Lucid Wine, Dr. Upen Patel DDS, Loan Depot, and the Asher Styrsky Insurance Agency.

“Part of our purpose at Dwell is helping build our community, supporting local businesses and contributing to charities working in our neighborhoods. Our clients, friends and community showed up and shared some holiday cheer with an outpouring of donations resulting in a whole truck load of new coats, blankets, and more” said Ed. And almost a thousand diapers too.

Everyone gets a gigantic pie as a thank you. The pies were almost as big as the hearts of all those who brought bountiful donations. Ed shared “we have so much we’re grateful for and cherish this opportunity to appreciate all those who trust us with their homes. Countless clients have become friends over the years which makes these events even more fun and rewarding. We’re constantly inspired by the generosity and support this community shows our local kids in need.”

PUPS & PINTS

Pups & Pints came about because Ed, Brenda, and the entire Dwell team are colossal animal lovers and wanted to create an event for a cause they believe in. “Rescuing animals is near and dear to our hearts,” they share. “We chose Front Street as our charity partner because our family has several rescues from them, and we’re consistently impressed with the care and community involvement from those who run it.”

Sweltering heat didn’t deter the hearts of those who came out to Golden Road Brewery to raise a pint, drop off donations, and enjoy a variety of games (and prizes!) Jill Carmel snapped fun Pup Pics for families and their dogs while everyone enjoyed tasty treats and unique brews. There were lots of laughs and heart-warming stories of rescued pets. And one of the best parts of the day was all the love for the Front Street Animal Shetler. The supplies collected filled five entire cars with food, blankets, toys, and other goodies for the shelter animals.
